Los Angeles was my (Nika, ALEL Founder) home for many years—seeing the recent fires has been devastating. It’s like watching family go through a crisis and feeling powerless to help. Many families, especially children, have lost everything, and with the holidays behind us, they could really use a little extra love right now.
Please watch this video. It showcases how important it is to support these children that have lost everything but still want to share kind acts with others. (Video Created: @Kalinasilverman, @Makebigtalk)
That’s why I’m organizing a Re-Christmas to collect toys, gift cards, and donations. Over the next few weeks, my team and I will personally transport these gifts to LA to make sure the kids and families receive them in time for Kindness Week this mid-February. (Feb. 14th- 20th)
How You Can Help
1. Donate New Toys
We’re accepting new, unused toys of all kinds: Legos, action figures, board games, puzzles, dolls, art supplies, and more. Think of the kind of gifts that would bring a smile to a child’s face!
2. Send Gift Cards
Gift cards are a wonderful way for families to buy exactly what they need, whether that’s clothes, food, or school supplies. Visa, Target, Walmart, Amazon: any card that can be used universally will be incredibly helpful.
3. Make a Donation
If toys or gift cards aren’t your thing, you can donate directly here:
Every single dollar will go toward gifts, wrapping supplies, or additional gift cards—nothing else. A Little Extra Love, is a registered 501(C)3, so all of your donations are tax-deductible.
Where Your Donations Go
• Toys for Kids: We want to bring a spark of joy to children who have had their lives turned upside down.
• Gift Cards for Families: Parents can use these cards to replace clothes, basic necessities, or even treat their kids to something fun or an activity.
• Wrapping and Delivery: Your donation also helps cover any costs to wrap and transport these items directly to Los Angeles, so you know your kindness goes straight into the hands of those who need it most.
Stay in the Loop
We’ll be sharing updates on how things are going, from the collection process to the distribution in LA. Keep an eye on our socials:
@alittleextraloveorg on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok (if it makes it to February).
There, you’ll see photos and stories of the families your generosity will help. It’s an amazing feeling to watch the love you’ve shown turn into real moments of happiness for these kids.
